CZ Public Holidays
A small API for Czech public holidays, written as a minimal API in .NET 6. Its history shows the move from Azure App Service to my own Docker setup behind nginx on Debian — the same path this site follows today.

A small API that returns the list of Czech public holidays for a given year. Nothing more, nothing less — just enough that I don’t have to work the holidays out by hand all over again in every new project that needs them.
Written as a minimal API in .NET 6, with documentation through Swagger and a Dockerfile for deployment. It started in March 2021, the last changes are from September 2022, 15 commits in all.
More interesting than the API itself is its deployment history. The commits from September 2022 — “uprava pro beh na debianu” and “uprava pro linux / nginx”, adjustments for running on Debian and for Linux / nginx — show the move from Azure App Service to my own Docker container on Debian behind nginx. It’s the same path this site runs on today: away from PaaS, toward a server I understand and look after myself.
